Dr. Crawford Long entered into private practice in Atlanta in the 1960’s. He joined the practice of Dr. John McCain who at that time was a Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine where he was teaching medical students and also interns and residents at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Long along with practicing OB/GYN was the head of the Sheffield Cancer Clinic, which at that time was the state hospital for cancer patients. Here he performed exhaustive exeneration operations, which took more than 9 hours. These were very complicated but were life giving. He has also been a clinical instructor at
Emory School of Medicine at Crawford Long Hospital, was on the staff at Georgia Baptist Hospital and currently is at Northside Hospital.

Over the years he has delivered approximately 3 babies a week for 40 plus years. That’s a lot of little people. He loves his work and finds each delivery a miracle, and the most important event in our lives. Without the special relationship between the mother and her baby our species would perish. He lives a life of service to others. Each patient is the most important person in the world to him. Currently he is in private practice with his son,
Dr. George D. Long, at Northside Hospital who continues the proud tradition.

Dr. Long is always asked about his connection to Crawford Long Hospital... He is the grand nephew of the first Crawford Long who discovered anaesthesia. You can read a quick history of
Crawford Long here.

A new DVD is coming soon on what you can do to stay healthy by being aware of danger signals and how to do self breast exams and much more. This will be available in our store and all proceeds will go to help Pinc Bubble.
