Mimi attributes her love of people and fun to her father.
He was warm, fun and never met a stranger.

Her childhood days in Southwest Florida were filled with interesting and entertaining people, Myrna Loy, Gary Cooper, Charles Lindberg, Richard Archbold just to name a few.

How did this happen… Mimi’s mother a New York debutante and artist came to Florida in the 1930’s to join her father on his yacht for a couple of weeks to get over a bad cold. To make a long story short, Mimi’s father was the fishing guide on the trip and her mother fell in love with him under the Florida Moon. Her mother spent her early days in Paris, Santa Fe and New York and had many friends who came to visit her in Florida year after year.

Growing up Mimi had the best of both worlds the sophistication of her mother and her father’s appreciation for nature. One day in a mangrove creek full of mosquitoes cast netting for mullet, and the next day in New York City lunching at 21 and then a Broadway play. It was an amazing way to grow up.

In asking if she had a mentor along the way… yes, she said, “I have had two. Pat Kennedy my fourth grade teacher who taught me that you must develop the self discipline of a good work ethic and that you must do the daily work. The work you do today gives you options for the success of tomorrow.

My second mentor was Mona Kent Eddy (1909 –1990) who wrote early radio and TV shows in the 1940’s and 50’s for General Foods on CBS. “Portia Faces Life”, “Captain Video and his Video Rangers” and innumerable stories.

Madison Avenue was a man’s world and Mona was a true pioneer. Thank you Mona. She was my dear friend and we shared the same birthday. She taught me that within each of us there is an un-sung hero with dreams, an interesting person, and showed me how to make them feel important. How to draw the person within out… she taught me to listen, listen and listen. She taught me that everything is possible if you want it badly enough and to reach for the stars. She was a 30 year breast cancer survivor and died of old age.”

Mimi spent the 1980’s and 90’s in corporate America as Vice President of Market Research and Corporate Vice President for Materials Technology Corporation playing an integral role in putting together million dollar joint venture programs with Occidental Petroleum, Owens-Corning, Owens-Illinois, Rothschild Group of London in the high technology sector which included solar and alternative energy programs. She was an associate of IEAL, International Energy Associates Limited in Washington, D.C. under the tutelage of John E. Gray and Hilliard W. Paige who brought the first commercial jet engine business to General Electric.

In the 2000’s Mimi took a management position with a 3.6 billion dollar cosmetic company and it is through that position she saw the opportunity to share with women the ability to be of service while they are undergoing chemotherapy and other cancer treatments and also women who have chronic illnesses and their supporters. Cancer is no stranger to her as both of her parents were cancer survivors and both passed away from old age.

Mimi is married to Dr. Crawford W. Long II an OB/GYN in Atlanta, Georgia and has two children, Chandelle and Bryan, two step children, George and Christi and three grand children, Sienna, Gia and Carter. They are her why and
legacy.
